ELIZABETH M. BEZAK Ms. Bezak graduated from the University of Illinois where she received her A.B. degree in 1989. She received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Valparaiso University School of Law in 1992. At Valparaiso, Ms. Bezak served on the Executive Board of Valparaiso University Law Review as Executive Editor of Student Writing for the Valparaiso University Law Review. She authored and published "DNA Profiling Evidence: The Need For A Uniform and Workable Evidentiary Standard of Admissibility.” 26 Val.U. L.Rev. 595 (Spring 1992). Ms. Bezak concentrates her practice in civil litigation, in representing businesses, individuals, insurance companies and their insureds in a variety of different matters, including tort litigation, contract disputes, labor and employment issues, worker's compensation, personal injury and property damage. She handles cases in State and Federal Courts at both the trial and appellate levels and has conducted both jury and bench trials. She has argued successfully before the Indiana Supreme Court and periodically serves as Judge Pro Tem for the Lake Superior Court in Hammond, Indiana and Crown Point, Indiana. Ms. Bezak served on the Executive Board of Trustees for the Lake Area United Way from 1993-1997. Ms. Bezak was selected by her peers to membership in the Calumet American Inn of Court where she has served as an Associate Member, Barrister Member and Program Director. She served as an Adjunct Professor at Valparaiso University School of Law where she taught Pre‑Trial Skills from 1994-2000. Ms. Bezak is admitted to practice law in both the State and Federal courts in Indiana and Illinois, and is a member of the Lake County, Indiana, Illinois and American Bar Associations.
